For every runner, preparing for a marathon involves immense effort and pushing personal limits. Participants of the Silesia Marathon, as well as the half marathon and ultra race, not only have the chance to finish their race on the track of the legendary “Witch’s Cauldron.” At the finish line, an additional reward awaits them—a unique, commemorative medal that will be hung around the neck of everyone who reaches the finish line.

The medal for this year’s 16th edition of the Silesia Marathon 2024 features, among other things, the image of the Silesian Planetarium, which is the largest and oldest astronomical observatory in Poland. For nearly 70 years, it has been located in Silesian Park, offering visitors unforgettable attractions such as viewing 100 million stars in the Silesian sky, virtual flights to the ISS in simulators, and simulated earthquakes.
 

On the front of the medal, the name of the race and the edition number are inscribed, while the back features the image of the Silesian Planetarium, along with the names of the cities the race route passes through, the distance, and the date of our event. The ribbon of the medal is adorned with the coat of arms of the Silesian Voivodeship. There is also space on the medal for engraving the finish time achieved at the race.
 

Our medal not only symbolizes the effort put into preparations but also serves as a special keepsake from one of the most significant running events in Silesia.
