This year’s Silesia Marathon was filled with numerous running records—personal bests, and even a new course record! But as organizers, we also set our own record: the highest number of volunteers ever involved! A remarkable 735 volunteers dedicated their time to ensuring an unforgettable experience for our runners. These dedicated individuals supported race registration, baggage storage, course safety, hydration stations, and the finish line. In total, they contributed an impressive 4,010 hours of volunteer work!
Silesia Marathon’s volunteer program breaks down barriers—not only geographical but also generational. Our volunteers came from far beyond the Silesian Agglomeration, representing cities like Tarnów, Kraków, Olkusz, Opole, and Bielsko-Biała.
Our youngest volunteer, a 5-year-old boy from Wieliczka, joined us with his parents and sister. His enthusiasm at the hydration station was truly infectious, bringing smiles to runners’ faces. If you stopped at the 9th hydration point for a cup of water, you may have received it from our youngest helper!
At that very same station, you might have also met our oldest volunteer, a 76-year-old whose energy and optimism could inspire many!
To all the incredible volunteers of Silesia Marathon—thank you for your dedication, enthusiasm, and the positive energy you bring. You not only uplift our runners but also motivate us as organizers!
We invite you to check out our photo gallery showcasing the hard work and joy of our 2024 volunteers. We hope their smiling faces will inspire even more people to join our volunteer team for future races! 😊
