Running is the most popular form of exercise worldwide and the only one that doesn’t require special training. Anyone can run, regardless of age, gender, race, or location, which explains why it has become such a popular activity. Once again, at the start of our event, we will see runners from not only our country but also from around the globe. We want to welcome everyone with traditional Silesian hospitality, ensuring that the shared competition and finish line at the Silesian Stadium leave a lasting and positive mark in their running memories.

Why do so many people from so many different countries come to run a marathon here, in the capital of athletics? One of the key factors is that Silesia Marathon is part of AIMS, the International Association of Marathons and Distance Races. This organization includes the world’s largest street races, and thanks to it, we have been cooperating on equal terms for several years with major marathons like the New York City Marathon, Boston Marathon, and Tokyo Marathon.

The Magic of the Silesian Stadium.
The latest world records set in the “Witch’s Cauldron” have shown that finishing a marathon on such a unique track can be an unforgettable experience. Finishing a marathon on a stadium track is rare, and certainly finishing on a 54,000-seat venue that has hosted world champions and record holders in athletics, and will soon welcome many running enthusiasts, is even rarer.

Today, we know that one of the decisive factors for participants is the positive feedback from those who have taken part in previous editions of the Silesia Marathon. Thanks to this, each year we welcome more and more runners from around the world.

Who can we expect to see on the Silesia Marathon course this year?

The largest group of participants will be from the Czech Republic, which isn’t surprising considering it’s only an hour’s drive from the border. The second largest group of runners comes from Germany.

In addition to participants from nearly all European Union countries, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, this year we will also see guests from distant countries such as New Zealand, South Africa, the United States, Mexico, South Korea, the Philippines, and Taiwan. The largest group of runners from outside Europe will be from Canada.
